Small First Aid Kit
Don't forget a small first aid kit. Some basics are band aids, disinfectant, anti-bacterial ointment, cold tablets, eye wash and sun block. A small bottle of anti-bacterial hand cleaner is great when traveling since many rest rooms lack soap and water. Where do the locals stay when they are traveling in their country? Probably not at your hotel. There are a lot of smaller very nice hotels that have lower rates that tourists don't know about. That's where the locals stay. How can you learn about these places? When you're in the area, get information from the business information center or talk with locals for word-of-mouth recommendations. Keep a list of these hotels. then, the next time you're planning to travel to the area, you can book the reservation yourself and feel comfortable about the accomodations.
